Kentucky Horse Park One of my favorite places in the world.  Museum-like exhibits to see, trail rides for hire and they host about a million visitors a year and 60 equine sporting events, including an international Kentucky Three-Day Event in April (1st day is dressage, 2nd day is cross country, and the final day is stadium jumping).  April 26-30. 2006
Stateline Tack Known for affordable tack and supplies.  Also good for quick research into the horse world.
