Huck's Home Town

Huck grew up in a town called Sanford, Florida. Back then it was a relatively small town once called Celery City as it was the celery capital of the world. After Huck had moved on, the town was featured in some movies because of its Anytown look and feel. So without further ado, may I present "My Home Town"

My home town with its old brick streets,
During the summer was so hot on our feet.

That octagon there in the brick,
Is where the clock below, used to tick.

Now most of the businesses have moved to the mall,
Leaving antique dealers and a serene place to hang for us all.

Looking from the other end,
You see where we began.

Where the flag now stands,
Stood a Band Shell, where there would be concerts for us fans.

The city decided to beautify,
Adding this river-walk...don't know why.

The old armory still stands,
Training the men and women that defends our land.
Failed a driver's test here,
Told the examiner that dog shouldn't be there.

My grandma's house up above,
Housed us grandkids with lots of love.
The porch used to have a swing,
Where us kids would sit and talk of everything.

This little two bedroom is where I lived till I was eight,
The little girl next door and I made out in the front yard until it was late.

This is the house we called the castle house.
It was near the railroad track
It sits on a triangular block with statues out back.

Other houses we thought were cool,
Could be seen as we pedaled to school.
Hope you enjoyed this little tour of my home town,
Next time I do where I live now.
