The Birdhouse Gourds are a quirky electric rock quartet, with lean, rockin' arrangements and big vocal hooks.  The band has had wide audience appeal, supporting over the past year such acts as Sister Hazel, The Fixx, Hall & Oates, Michael McDonald, Leon Russell, The Strawbs and Ambrosia.

Birdhouse Gourds have also opened for the Beach Boys, appeared on the "Crooked River Groove" and acclaimed "Words and Music" television programs, and performed twice on the "Live from Cleveland" radio program.  All accomplished in just a short time by these reunited lifelong friends.

The charismatic singing, succinct guitar work and potent rhythm section have garnered a loyal following that knows they'll be treated to inspired songs and a great performance each and every show.  The cohesive musicianship of Jerry Popiel (vocals and guitar), Jake Schneider (drums and vocals), Will Albrecht (bass guitar and vocals) and Gregg Thauvette (guitar) pulls  it all together with a unique Rust Belt flair.  Think The Smiths, Barenaked Ladies, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Chris Isaak or REM.
