My
18 yr old son was due to give his final concert of the school year this
past June (2007) and the school nurse called me that day at lunchtime
saying he was sick with a sore throat, low grade fever and malaise.
He was supposed to perform in show choir, chorale and the
all-male chorus and we'd been looking forward to this event for
months. He was unhappy about being sick to say the least. I
explained that we would need to be aggressive and get him home right
away to start with essential oils. This is what we did:
steam inhalation with a drop of R.C., diluted Thieves on his chest with
warm compresses, apple cider vinegar with Agave & water, and I put
some Egyptian Gold on a teaspoon with some Agave for him to swallow
(since it is hard for him to take the capsules) twice (several hours
apart) and I ran the diffuser for two ½ hr. periods before he got ready
to shower for the concert. He slept most of the afternoon and
felt well enough to give a great performance that evening. Of
course he continued with the R.C. and Thieves, warm compresses, Vitamin
C and steam inhalation over the next 2 days also. Since my kids
are getting ready to go out into the world (17 and 19 yrs. old) I am
teaching them what to do and then watch them do it themselves, so they
can be comfortable doing all of this in college. Of course if he
had a true fever, I would have taken him to the doctor for a strep
culture, but we still would have addressed it with essential
oils. Their older siblings have been doing the same when they get
sick.
My
17 yr old daughter came home late one Friday nite after a track meet
and complained of head congestion, a sore throat and aches all
over. She also was seeing green when she blew her nose! She
was supposed to take her SAT's on Saturday morning, but felt unable to
get out of bed for them when the time arrived. I explained
that we would need to use aggressive measures over the weekend if she
wanted to go to school on Monday. (She was heading into a week of
three AP exams). This is what we did:
steam inhalation three times a day, apple cider vinegar with agave and
water three times a day, an alkaline diet, R.C. on her chest with warm
compresses over her chest and head three times a day, diffused Raven in
her bedroom on (a timer) over nite (it diffused 3 times through the
nite for ½ hr. each period), Ningxia Red 2oz. twice a day and of
course, lots of rest. She was a new person within 48 hrs. and was
able to go to school, feeling so much better on Monday! Funny
thing, my boss came to work on that same Monday that my dgtr went back
to school with a similar complaint of sinus infection, malaise (that
started on Friday), only my boss was miserable, left early and was
still talking about going to get antibiotics before she
left. May 2007
I
caught a respiratory infection this spring and learned firt hand how
powerful steam inhalation can be. It came on suddenly and was
felt deep in my chest from the start. I poured boiling water into
a bowl and added 2 drops R.C. to it. Then I set the timer for 12
minutes and made a tent over my head with a towel as I sat down to
inhale the mix. This helped break up the congestion in my
chest. I also put 3-4 drops of Frankincense and Thieves in a
capsule three times a day for two days and then used Thieves with
Oregano and Thyme (3 drops each) twice a day for two more days. In
talking to two different friends who had similar respiratory infections
at the same time, I learned that they went to a doctor for antibiotics
after a week, while I healed in less than a week. April 2007
During
an out of town reunion, I woke up with a sore throat. I had
brought my oils with me, so I took an empty capsule and put 7 drops of
Thieves and 3 drops each of Oregano and Thyme into it. I took two
capsules of this blend, an hour apart from each other that morning and
by noon, my sore throat was gone. February 2007

One
day when I was chopping onions I sliced off about 1/8 of my ring
finger! My finger started bleeding and hurting right away.
My first thought was I can't see how deep this is with all the blood,
but I don't want to go to the emergency room and my second thought
was, I'm going to use my oils!
I rushed to the faucet and ran it under cold water.
After holding pressure on the finger I ran upstairs for my
Helichrysum oil and poured a couple drops onto it in order to stop the
bleeding. It slowed down the bleeding but it was hurting badly. I
remembered that peppermint oil was supposed to help ease pain and put a
drop on the finger. Within 2 seconds I felt relief. Then I
held more pressure on it as I started reading the Medical Guide I
use (it offers all kinds of ideas on what oils to use for what).
I read about more than 10 oils I could use, but I chose lavender
with tea tree oil, Roman chamomile and rose ointment to cover it.
I used this recipe 2-3x/day for 6 days and my wound completely healed!
I love the fact that I never needed stitches or drugs and today I have no scar whatsoever!
