ma.jpg      "Latin music and more" for the listening pleasure of the residents in the Southern Tier of Central New York, and now the world via the Internet. A mixture of Tropical-Caribbean music with its influences from the jazz spectrum to typical island and Latin American rhythms.

egc.jpg      From Israel "Cachao" López to El Gran Combo, Paquito D'Rivera, Tito Puente, Ismael Rivera, Celia Cruz,Willie Colón y Héctor La Voe, Oscar D'León, Rubén Blades, Juan Luis Guerra, the Fania All Stars, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Willie Rosario, Tony Vega, Orquesta Aragón, and Plena Libre, the emphasis is on the musical giants that have contributed heavily to contemporary and classic latin music, as well as, upcoming legends of tomorrow. While not strictly limited to Latin-Jazz, Salsa, Merengue, Bomba, Plena, other Latin American rhythms are also explored.

pcr.jpg      Also surveyed are the contemporary influences of the "urban" sound (latin dance, reggae-espanol, latín-pop, etc.) in Latin music . A few examples of artists representing these hybrid musical genres are: Vocal Sampling, Jennifer López, Marc Anthony, Hermanos Rosario, La India, Ricky Martin, Víctor Manuelle, Gisselle, Melina León, Grupo Manía, and others.

     So, if you like to dance or just enjoy listening to the varied latin rhythms, the stage is set.

  WHRW 90.5 FM in Binghamton, New York, the University radio station. Tune in Saturday evenings and "expand your horizons."
