March 24, 1863 (continued) - the commissarie & that helped me a little. It rained all night but we did not suffer.

25th - Nice day. Got a few sticks to stockade with. Our stove is a grand thing. To night it rained again but we are all right.

26th - Snow this forenoon a little. The Details are small. 3 men for Guard only. This P.M. we turned out & got our timber to Stockade with. Our tent has not come yet. Don't see what Lia(?) means---.

27th - This is a fine morning with just enough frost to make it bracing. In the middle of the day it was warm & sunshiny. Altogether the finest day we've had. Moreil Morehouse died this morning at 2 o'clock & Abe Norton & Corp. Hill joined the Co. Finished our stockade.

28th - Two corps. & 5 men for Picket and it rains dismally, in revenge for our weather yesterday. Did not get up till 7 o'clock. Pretty late for an orderly! Sid comes today. Put up the stove & bunks. Got a letter from Albert S. & Roy Pollard to night.

29th - Sid received orders to report at Headquarters this morning. Cool & blustering weather. Company inspection this morning.

March 30, 1863 - Fine morning. Rather cool. Nothing extraordinary happens. only the book got wet.

31st - March goes out like a lion-a snow storm helps along

April Fool Day -- Quite windy. Got the clothing Book signed. Detailed a Corp. & 4 men for Patrol. The 13th moves tomorrow.

April 2nd -- Very fine day. Detailed Picket. 10 men 1/2 excused! Went over to the camp of the 13th to see what could be found. A knife, pencil & some boards rewarded me. Received a letter from Eliza.

April 3rd -- Fine weather-warm. Two men for Guard. The boys playing ball and pitching quarters. Policing the streets this P.M. Detailed two men for Picket or Patrol. I guess our time will be out on the 10th of June. Don't know though---

April 4th, 1863 -- Two men for Guard & 5 & 2 corporals for Picket. Made out the inventory of the effects of the men that the Co. has lost. Had a loaf of soft bread again. Nice day but at sundown the wind began to blow & the snow & rain came too.
