7th, 8th, & 9th -- I have forgotten to write any for preceeding three days. Was on Guard at Camp last night. Very fine weather now.

10th -- On Fatigue today, dismissed. Hot as Fire. Going to move camp tomorrow. The Chaplain said prayers at Dress Parade to night. Converse is very sick. Charley & I fixed up our bunk to day & tomorrow we have got to tear it down I suppose, unless it rains as it did the other time the Col. was going to do it. Got a letter from Julius.

May 11th -- A pretty wam day. I washed my clothes this morning & came back & moved my shanty for we move on the Parade ground to clear off the ground where we haev staid to let it dry & then move back. Converse getting better but went up to the Hospital. Got a letter from Mother.

12th -- On Patrol last night. It is hotter than ever to day. I went into the River yesterday & I've been in again this A.M. & again this P.M. We drilled this morning at Reveille & are to again tomorrow.

13th -- Drill for an hour after Reveille. The Col. put the Absentees on Guard over the Arms. This A.M. did not amount to much. I went on Fatigue to day. Wrote to Helen & went bathing.

14th -- No drill to day--strange indeed. Pretty warm. Charley & I made a frame for a shanty. I got a pair of socks for Rollin who is getting better. Sid has come to the Co. once more.

May 15th -- A nice day. There is to be an Inspection tomorrow & I am detailed for Picket -- Good.

16th -- Guard mounting at 5, pretty early. I am elected. Sid cannot go nor the rest of the Co. I boys.

17th -- This morning finds me on Picket. I stood my time with the rest last night. It is very fine weather. I am stationed at the third post, west of the old barn at the mouth of Wolf Run.

18th -- This morning I was relieved from my first Picket in three or four months--escaped Inspection by it. Fixed up our new tent & moved into it today.
