WALLACE DEROUCHIE, 92, FORMER FT. RESIDENT, DIES IN MASSENA Wallace John Derouchie, 92, who has lived in Massena with his children for 19 years, died Monday afternoon at Massena Memorial hospital. He had formerly been a patient in the Highland nursing home. The body has been in repose at Phillips Memorial home, Massena. The funeral will be at ten a.m., this morning (Thursday) from Sacred Heart church. Burial will be in St. Agnes, Quebec, cemetery. He is survived by six daughters, three sons, a brother, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was born July 10, 1875, at St. Regis Falls, a son of Alex and Phoebe Boyer Derouchie. He attended schools in St. Regis Falls. He married Miss Celena Brunet in St. Anicet, Quebec in 1900. The couple lived at Fort Covington for many years, Mr. Derouchie working on the section of the local railroad. Later he operated farms in Dundee and St. Agnes. Mrs. Derouchie died in 1948. |

INTERMENT RITES AT ST. AGNES FOR WALLACE DEROUCHIE Wallace John Derouchie, 92, whose death occurred in the Massena Memorial hospital on August 14th and who had resided in the Massena area for 19 years, had lived for many years in Fort Covington and Dundee when he worked on the local railroad section and operated farms. His funeral was held Thursday morning from Sacred Heart church, Massena, and burial was made in St. Agnes cemetery in St. Agnes, Dundee, Quebec. His wife, the former Miss Celena Brunet, predeceased him in 1948. Surviving are, six daughters, Mrs. Richard (Rose) Hartigan, Cook St. Rd., Mrs. Leland (Phoebe) LaShomb, Douglas Rd., Mrs. Joseph (Mary Jane) Martin, Brasher, Mrs. Kenneth (Leona) LeBlanc, St. Agnes, Quebec, Mrs. Henry (Elizabeth) Raymo, Massena, Mrs. George (Emma) Spencer, Deer River, Quebec; three sons, Joseph Derouchie, Winthrop Rd., Massena, Wallace Derouchie, of Massena, and Medus Derouchie, St. Agnes; one brother, Edward Derouchie, Montreal;several grandchildren and great grandchildren. |
