MRS. ELIZABETH SMITH
MILTON - Mrs. Elizabeth Smith, 63, died Wednesday afternoon in Burlington after a long illness.

She was born in Vergennes May 7, 1917, daughter of Stephen and Anna (Raymo) Rivait. Mrs. Smith was a member of St. Joseph's parish in Burlington and Montpelier VFW Post 792.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Smith of Milton; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Sandra) Barton of Naples, Fla., and Mrs. Richard (Winona) Gaudette of Georgia; three sons, Stephen Smith of Burlington, Robert Smith Jr. of Miami, Fla., and Joseph Smith of Chicopee, Mass.; 15 grandchildren; one brother, Arthur Rivait of Charlotte; two sisters, Mrs. Cecile Caporale of Deland Springs, Fla., and Mrs. Lillian Patterson of Vergennes; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Church, Vergennes. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call at the Brown-McClay Funeral Home, Vergennes, Friday and Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Milton Rescue Squad, in care of Margo Coy, Main Street, Milton 05468
