The Group cards:

The Plot cards:

The Strategy:

This started as merely a theme of all the Space groups and Satellite resources, but then the combination of Newt and the OMCL gave rise to a workable deck. This is not a great deck, and depends too heavily on Newt Gingrich to win, but it's still fun to build a theme deck where most of the cards fit the theme and the deck is still workable.

Early game:

Lead with Orbit One, and make all the others it's puppets to get the extra plot cards. NASA is the only one that doesn't fit in with this. You should use one Illuminati action each turn to draw an extra group card, allowing you to build as soon as possible. The deck is resource heavy, but this is solved by using Illuminati actions, the unlinked Flying Saucer, and the Supernova plots to quickly get them all out, and this all fits in with the theme.

Emergency Powers is the only real protection for NASA, and Newt gets the Citizenship Award for offense and defense. Each place gets a Power Satellite, and then link the Saucer to Newt, as well as linking him to Moonbase for major protection (especially if you're playing against Cthulhu) since he is your key group in the deck.

Mid-game:

Now start using Newt to destroy all Liberals in sight. Use the Liberal Agendas (with your spare UFO action) and OMCL to make them wherever necessary. He can double his attacks by getting NASA's actions, and the New Federal Budget can let him act up to four times in one turn! With the help of the Weather Satellite, Places become the best targets, and even if your disasters with increased power only devastate (Hurricane, remember, can only devastate) that still halves their power for when Newt strikes.

Use the Liberal Agendas on weaker groups, because you don't want to create a powerful Liberal that, if you fail to destroy it, can turn around and destroy Newt.

I recently took out the Spy Satellite and tossed in Xists from Sub-Genius, because another 5 global power never hurts.

End-game:

If you can manage to destroy plenty without too much interference as early in the game as possible, you can win with Let Them Eat Cake easily before your opposition builds up their defenses. Of course, you only need to destroy four liberals, then Alien Abduct Ross Perot, rearrange groups to be his puppets, and immediately create enough conservatives.

If you run into too much resistance, or Newt gets killed early on, you can still try to grab any Science groups out there (with L-4's bonus) to try to get Blinded By Science.
