Backgammon is an ancient game of strategy, whose antecedents date back some 4000 to 5000 years to ancient Babylonia and Egypt.

 

Backgammon is relatively easy to learn -- easier than chess -- and an individual game can be played in as little as 5 to 10 minutes.  Nevertheless, it can take a lifetime to truly master the intricacies of backgammon.  (3 minute video summarizing the rules of backgammon)

Meets conjointly with the Anchorage Go Club -- at Title Wave Books, 1360 West Northern Lights Blvd, Anchorage, Alaska 99503

When:

on both Thursdays and Saturdays, starting at 5:00 p.m. and staying until store closing (8:00 p.m. on Thursdays; 9:00 p.m. on Saturdays)

 Informal one-on-one play + chouettes
Misc. Title Wave Books, will provide a board -- so anyone who is interested in learning but who does not have a board is welcome and encouraged to attend.
