I spoke with Diane Velleca last Saturday and she
expressed disappointment about not having a gathering at a Park like the Class of '76 and
Class of '77. She thought it would be a good opportunity to see our classmates'
children. Anybody else interested in having a "bring your own goodies"
gathering at a park?
Tod Clarke (added 3/20/98)
(Thanks Diane and Tod, I will pass this suggestion along to the reunion committee.
If anyone
else is interested in doing this, contact the reunion committee or myself and I am sure it
can
be arranged. S.T.)

Get off your couches and lounge chairs and come take a trip down
memory lane. If the Eagles and Fleetwood Mac can have a reunion so can the Class of
'78. We partied hard in our senior year let's see if we can do it again in June.
We'll reminisce about parties behind Kleinwood, parties in deserted fields, dances
in the school gym and make some new memories. So dust off your eight tracks, get out
your fake i.d. and come party with us on June 12th and 13th. Hopefully a fun time
will be had by all.

"THE WAY WE WERE"..."BUT WHERE'S THE
BEEF"??? by Kris Fisher
Who went to prison...who put up bail?
Who became a priest...who went to Yale?
Who ran for office...who plays politics?
Who's in the nuthouse playing with pick-up stix?
How many never married...how many divorced?
Who spends all his time on the golf course?
Who became the doctor...who became the nurse?
Who's the high brow woman with the alligator purse?
Who's the CPA...who's on Wallstreet?
Who's the podiatrist looking at people's feet?
Who pursued the Arts...who lays broadband cable?
Who lost his fortune at a Vegas poker table?
Who is now a Chef...who posed nude?
Who works at The Waffle House cooking someone's food?
Who came out of the closet...we ALL want to know?
Who ended up on the Jerry Springer Show?
Who has been published...who's still the fool?
Who's made a cool $million$, since we left high school.
Who became a singer...who traveled abroad?
Who married the guy who used to be a clod?
Who became a bartender, in a nightclub?
Who drinks the most beer and bought an Irish Pub?
Who became a model...who went to Rome?
Who went to the Gulf and never came home?
The answers to these and many other perplexing questions to be revealed at
your KHS HIGH SCHOOL REUNION...which won't be the same if you're not there.
Besides if you're a NO SHOW we can make up whatever stories we want to about
your life and existence since high school in the continuing saga of Whatever
Happened to Baby Jane???
Now that you know what I've been doing since leaving Klein High (sitting
around thinking up useless little limericks waiting for my 20th high school year
reunion to roll around.) 20 YEARS??? My, you people are getting OLD. Oh well,
at least that high school typing class finally paid off...I can still hear
that stupid music w/ the annoying little bell in my head. In closing:
Come as you are...or wear your hair...just won't be the same...without you
there!
Would love to hear from you. I can be reached @:

P.S. My B-day is April 8th...I'm so glad I am not as old as you people must
be!

Hello, fellow Bearcats! Who could believe

I'm looking forward to seeing all those that I saw at the five and ten year

reach me at:

I liked Kris Fisher's prose, and like Kris, I wonder just what has happened to all my old

Do you remember our senior year, every grade level decorated
their hall. First off, we won for best decorated hall. Well someone, well probably
more than 'one' someone must have seen their subdivion's
decorations in our hall and told their parents. Needless to say we got in trouble
and I think Jason Floyd and Rosemary Alyea had to go and apologize to someone. They
also had to give the decorations back, but for that short moment, our hall looked great.
Did they take our decoration award away from us????? I think so......

I have really enjoyed reading this web site. Kudo's to

I'm so very impressed by this beautiful web site that you created. And it is
wonderful that our class officers are planning such a fun week-end. I wish that I had
logged on to this web site long ago. It would have been interesting to watch it grow.
I live in Chicago. I recently sold a horse and carriage business which I had owned
for eight years. I also just got married and am very happy. I am a
free lance production coordinator for tv commercials. I can't wait for the reunion.
Rebecca Estrada (Holt) and I have been talking about it for months. Also, my good friend,

coming. The reunion is only five days away and I can't wait to see everybody.

Nancy Milligan Nice sends greetings to all and wishes that she
could attend the reunion but on the chance that a star will be born at my daughters dance
recital, I just can't make it. I am married to a great guy who had moved us around
the country quite a bit since Houston. We have two children
a boy (9) and a girl (6). We are currently living in the Chicago area and really
enjoying it. Life has been very good to us. We are very disappointed not to be
able to attend and see some old friends. I would love to hear from any lost souls
out there so please feel free. We get back to Houston from time to time as my folks
still live in Memorial Northwest so there is a chance to make any future "get
togethers".
Best wishes to all and many thanks to Stan for all of his work on this website. For
those of us not able to attend it has really provided a trip down memory lane. I
look forward to reading more as well as some post reunion reviews, success stories etc.

Stan,
Home run web page idea, and many thanks for all the keyboard time I know you've put in. We
owe you. Wish like crazy we could make it to the reunion, but alas, tis not to be.
Was fun to see so many "checking in." After all the years, goofs grow into
laughs, incidents mellow into memories, and it would be great to reminisce in person with
so many. Kathy and I currently live in Lincoln, NE, where I serve as a pastor (the
grace of God goes a long ways, huh? along with His humor). We have three children: Karis
Grace (8), Andrew (the Hurricane, 6.5), and Hope (4.5). We are blessed, busy, and
tremendously fulfilled. Trust all will have a great time together. Wish I could
introduce you to Kat.
Have a blast!

Hello Fellow BurrKats!
I am terribly excited about seeing all of you all, that, well, I don't want to go to the
reunion, because then it will be over ... but thanks to Stan we'll be able to relive our
youth for many years to come!
I am living in Austin now, after a 9-year stint in Phoenix, and then 3 years in Washington
D.C. I was able to do a lot of international travel while working in D.C. with the some
international organizations ...
believe me, its a long story! (I was an undercover narcotics officer for the CIA ... yea
right!) But then I got tired of the D.C. rap, and moved back to the wonderful town of
Austin! I now live within 100 feet
of Barton Springs, and everyone is welcome to stop by when you are in town, or if you want
to come up for the weekend ... Mi Casa, Su Casa!
I forgot to get married, and then I forgot to get divorced, and I'm pretty sure I don't
have any children, but I do have 2 cats.
I am now a Sales Engineer (yep, I'm a ChE ... unlike other party animals who became brain
surgeons!) and I work a lot in Mexico and Central America, and the Southwest U.S. and the
border. Yo hablo espanol.
Please email me and tell me how you've been! I'm at
rperkins@austin.rr.com
I'll be playing golf on Friday (please join us ladies!), partying Friday night, looking
for a POOL PARTY on Saturday day, and shoot, I guess I'll party on Saturday night as well
... (but what do I wear?). Heck, why stop, then I'll be partying on Sunday, and drive to
Austin, and party Sunday night, and ... you get the picture... Class of '78 Never
Straight. Please write or call! Rick Perkins 512-441-7883

Stan,
I'll echo all the other comments about your web site - great job! I apparently could never
get out of high school as I'm teaching a course called Planet Earth at the LBJ Science
Academy in Austin. If you want to see what kind of no-goodniks I have to deal with in high
schools these days, you can check out the kind of respect I get by looking at what some of
my students did to my picture in their web site for a class project : ) (I remember
my high school presentations usually consisted of drawing something on a piece of poster
board with a felt tip pen!)
http://www.realtime.net/~dougvln/project/pictures.html
I currently live in Round Rock (Austin burb) with my wonderful wife Bari. We were going to
try to at least make it to the Friday event but too much to get done before a long-
planned trip. I know everyone will have a great time and hopefully we'll make it to the
25th or 30th ('78 sometimes seems so long ago - Isn't watching "Dazed and
Confused" kind of scary? : )
