First Wednesday of the Month on April 6, 2011 Report
The usual Hawaii Dragons (Wayne Tanigawa, Gilbert Kaneshiro, Mike Connolly, Jimmy Moa and friend, Rinsei Haimoto, Irene Ross, Robert Higa, Yvonne(Hoaeae'71) Magallnes, Marlene Blackwell and Stuart, Tim Gilliland, Dan Norimoto, Kenny Alwardt and friend, Richard Nakanishi, and Jesse Koike) were in attendance but there seem to be more excitement in the air. Could not pinpoint the exact reason but many of the Dragons talked about the recent disaster in Japan and that our fragile life is too short and that anything can happen to end it.
Wayne Tanigawa mentioned that the 2011 Summer Bash Seven is just around the corner so get your registration form and payment to him. The 2011 Bash website is posted on the homepage of the Hawaii Dragons website so check it out for all the Bash information.
The next "First Wednesday of the Month" will be on May 4, 2011 at "New Nigori" starting at 7pm. Come on down and spend a few hours with the Hawaii Dragons.
First Wednesday of the Month on November 3, 2010 Report
Tonight was a night to remember. There were many mainland Dragons visiting our monthly hangout which was packed with all kinds of party Dragons!! First there were John Goetz'68 and his wife plus her sister and spouse. Then there was Ed Wilson'70 who is an Alaska Airlines pilot. Another visitor was Ron Toyota'70 from the Los Angeles area. Then there was Patricia Del Monaco an adopted Dragon with two of her friends from San Diego. The Hawaii Dragons that were there that night to help welcome these visitors were Wayne Tanigawa, Gilbert Kaneshiro, Mike Connolly, Calvin Ota and his spouse Debra, Jimmy Moa, Ron Akemoto, Stan Yamada, Rinsei and Sue Haimoto, Irene Ross, Robert Higa, Yvonne(Hoaeae'71) Magallnes, Marlene Blackwell and Stuart, Ada Masaki, Gordon Medeiros, Dan Norimoto, Kenny Alwardt, Richard Nakanishi, Jesse Koike, and Eddie Yamauchi.

First Wednesday of the Month on October 6, 2010 Report
Tonight's appearance had a youthful look with numerous late-70s alumni showing for the "First Wednesday of the Month" gathering. These alumni (Stanley Yamauchi'76, Art Yoshinaga'78, Roy Toguchi'79, Sandra Higa'79, Betty Antonio'79, Mark Dumar'79, and Zane Higa'80) came to celebrate Eddie Yamauchi's 50th birthday. Of course Jesse Koike'78 was there to insure that the celebration went well. The other Hawaii Dragons that were there were Wayne Tanigawa, Gilbert Kaneshiro, Bob Payne, Ron Akemoto, Mike Pellerin, Manuel DeRego, Stan Yamada, Rinsei and Sue Haimoto, Gloria Kanada and her friend, and Kenny Alwardt.
Wayne Tanigawa made his official announcement that 2011 Summer Bash Seven is on by passing out the reunion information packet with the application form. The link to this Bash information is posted on the homepage of the Hawaii Dragons website.
Well Irene Ross and Robert Higa are currently entertaining the attendees at the "CELEBRATION OF LIFE" event (October 5-11, 2010) at Waikoloa on the Big Island.

First Wednesday of the Month on July 7, 2010 Report
This is the second month since returning to New Nigori and almost everyone is still excited about this place. Actually most of them just love to get together and party. The Hawaii Dragons that were there were Wayne Tanigawa, Gilbert Kaneshiro, Ricky Graves, Irene Ross, Robert Higa, Mike Pellerin, Manuel DeRego, Jim Moa, Rinsei and Sue Haimoto, Marlene Blackwell and beau Stuart, Jesse Koike, Ron Akemoto, Bobby Hirai, Gloria Kanda, Jo Ann Sur'73(first timer), Yvonne(Hoaeae'71) Magallnes, Richard Nakanishi, Kenny Alwardt, his daughter and son-in-law Harry, Stan Yamada and his friend.
There were some surprise guests from the mainland, Emmerson Edwards with his wife, son, daughter-in-law and grandson. They were all here for a Hawaiian vacation. Irene Ross brought two of her Hawaiian Airlines employees (Megumi Koriyama and Ayako Takahashi) from Tokyo, Japan. The two young girls were impressed or maybe shock to see middle age party animals.
Irene Ross and Robert Higa reminded everyone that the payment deadline for the "Open Registration" for the Celebration of Life event will end August 31, 2010. So get your registration form and fee into Irene and Robert before the registration fee increases on September 1, 2010. There was a guest appearance from a mainland alumni, John Goetz'68 at Can's Bar and Grill that night. His spouse and two local guests also came along. John and his spouse stop at Hawaii for a few days before heading back home to Washington state after a long visit down under. There was also Romeo Otiveros'71 who was saying his aloha since he was leaving for Okinawa in a couple of weeks to work at Kadena Air Base.
The rest of the evening was spent celebrating Stuart Holloway's 60th birthday.
As for the upcoming "Celebratin of Life" event in October 2010, Irene Ross said folks are starting to send in their registration form and payment. The atmosphere at Can's Bar and Grill was heating up with anticipation of the arrival of the mainland guests: Ron Thomas, Frances Sheehan, Patty DelMonaco and their friend Holly from the San Diego area. While Hawaii Dragon attendees (Gilbert Kaneshiro, Mike and Mary Connolly, Rinsei and Sue Haimoto, Richard Nakanishi, Richard Varble, Marlene Blackwell, Stuart Holloway, Gordon Medeiros, first time attendee Kenny Alwardt'73 with his son-in-law Harry) were waiting for the guests, the conversation around the tables were the next year's "reunion" by Irene Ross and Robert at Aston Shores at Waikoloa, Hawaii. Even the guests were getting excited about next year's event.
