From a post to "AlphaGate" on egroups: Ah... the man is -- hard as it is to believe -- even *more* attractive in person. And I kinda felt like miniJack when I walked up to him... he's taller than I thought he'd be! Those eyes really are to die for... long, long legs (in jeans ;->), killer smile... yadda. I'll post pics once I get them cleaned up and cropped (I have a lousy zoom, so most of them are way too-far long distance). And what a great guy -- he flew down from Canada that morning just for this event (he was headed back to the airport to fly back right afterwards). He brought a couple of signed SG caps and autographed pictures for the auction... not sure who for them, other than it wasn't me... but I'm sure they went to good homes ;-> During the 'lecture' portion of the day I learned a whole lot of things about Sea Shepherd that I didn't know and ended up re- joining. For some stupid reason, I'd thought (hoped!) the annual slaughter of the harp seals was a thing of the past. The location was beautiful, if too chilly for an outdoors event, and it was great being in a big crowd of animal lovers. Most of the day was just mingling, with both Rick and Linda Blair in the thick of things much of the time. Oh, and my brother now understands the whole 'celeb fascination' thing much better... I don't think he took his eyes off Linda Blair the whole day. One fun moment I recall... Linda and Rick were talking just before he left... I peel my eyes off Rick long enough to check out where my bro has gotten to... he's three feet away from me, staring at Linda... LOL! Plus it was cool to meet Fra! She and I both got autographs toward the end of the day... getting close to Rick sure helped with the late afternoon chill. Hehe. All in all... well worth the 100 mile each way drive ;-> - Star
