Beautiful weather, adorable animals and two (count 'em, TWO) gorgeous, charming, bantering men to keep us entertained -- what else could you ask for? Well, I suppose some photos and event reports would be nice, right?

My second Creation Con, this one featuring Michael Shanks, Chris Judge, Amanda Tapping, Jonathan Glassner, Carmen Argenziano, Tony Amendola, David Winning, Peter Williams and Don S. Davis. Con report to follow at some point, but for now here's a link to some pictures. Below you'll find my lovely new autograph (hurrah -- I finally got his infamous "Daniel" cartoon!), and to the left are some fun "harem" shots of several of the Fandom Nomads and two of our favorite guys. Nomad Reports (cuz I've been lazy/busy): And here's a great one from Michelle. |
I've never been to a Creation Con before, nor to a con this big, but I have to say that I really feel like I got my money's worth ($35 + $65 + $57 in my case). And I'm wasting no time in signing up for the Stargate-only con in Burbank in July!
Here's my photo album and report. I didn't cover the Q&A because I didn't take notes (too busy laughing and taking pictures), but the report at Solutions does a much better job than I could... and has some lovely photos as well. And for a complete (and very funny) transcript (again, with pics), visit TheOneRing.
What a great way to start the year: helping an extremely good cause raise money while enjoying a lovely afternoon in a beautiful location, with Richard Dean Anderson and Linda Blair there to lend their support. And improve the view ;->
Here's some of my photos and a very brief report.

This is the lovely little theatre that hosted No Scratch (the first play that Garett's performed in since college) last fall. This benefit was a fundraiser to support the theatre's upcoming 6th season, which will begin in February or March of 2004. In the meantime, some excellent productions -- including a musical rendition of "The Importance of Being Ernest" -- will be renting out the space.
The evening began at 7pm with a dinner catered by Chef Laurent Quinioux of the newly opened Bistro K, located adjacent to the theatre itself. The performance -- Words of Love, a collection of quotes, poems and scenes related to all aspects of love, began around 8pm. It was conceived and directed by James Reynolds and was full of wonderful selections -- some quite poignant, but many just plain LOL funny. I have a few photos of a scene Garett performed with Eva Tamargo, from Passions. Yes, he's holding a baseball bat. Yes, she's threatening him with a wrench. They aren't great shots due to the lighting and my limited zoom capabilities, but it'll give you some idea of how he looked that evening. After the performance, we had a dessert buffet, silent auction (congrats to the gal who snagged The Sentinel watch Garett donated!), and a chance to chat with all the performers. Garett was, in his usual 'post performance' style, charming, amusing and very 'on'. It was the first time my brother/housemate (poor, long-suffering, lives-with-a-fan person he is) got to see Garett in person (which made me more than a little nervouse - the stories he could tell!), but he behaved... and was quite impressed to boot.

Did I have a good time? Hmmm.... what do you
think? |

Photos (Michael, Garett and Bruce were all in story-telling mode. In fact, I would've had a much easier time getting clear shots if they hadn't kept me laughing so hard all the time!)

Here's a new collage in honor of two of the more highly anticipated guests, aka, Blair and Daniel's actors.
Oh, and one of No Scratch as well, since
that's *way* more recent than Blair. Yeah, okay... and because I went, uhm,
six times. And let's not forget Garett's ER
appearance.
Here's some Photos and my Con Report.
In September/October of 2002, I was once again reminded of how lucky am I to live in LA, because being local gave me multiple opportunities to see Garett Maggart playing the role of Wallace in the play "No Scratch" at the Fremont Centre Theatre in South Pasadena. Here are my Photos and Opening-Night Commentary.
