Club events increased rapidly by the late 70's with larger group activities
once again becoming the norm. The semi-monthly Friday night dances drew an average of 350+ persons. The club celebrated its silver anniversary in 1974, with a dinner-dance at the Sheraton Hotel in Pasadena which was attended by 500 current and former members. By early 1980, membership was holding at 214 persons, and dues were $15 a year.
The 1980's again showed a rapid growth of the club. LACAC celebrated its 'jade' (35th) anniversary in 1984 with a dinner-dance at the Los Angeles Hyatt Regency attended by 400 persons (past and present members). In 1989, the club celebrated its 40th anniversary in July of that year with a dinner-dance at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, and an informal picnic in nearby Glendale that same weekend (July 22-23)
Membership by January,1990 held steady at 273 members. Dues were $35 per year. The 1990's continued with its roster of social, spiritual, and community-service events. LACAC membership was concentrated in the Los Angeles County area. A few members listed on the LACAC roster included persons based in areas as far away as the Bronx, NY; Calgary, Alberta; and Papeete, Tahiti.
On November 20, 1999, the LACAC celebrated its golden anniversary with a dinner dance. The club will toasted its existence since the mid-century as it looked forward to continuing into the next century. The boat dance was sold-out and the profits were be donated to Maryvale Girls' Home and Camp Mariastella.
As of January, 2008, the club's membership stands at 200+ persons and rising. We offer many exciting activities including bi-monthly dances which are very well attended, house parties, dinners, Mass and brunch, miniature golf, bowling, camping, hiking, community service activities, etc. Dues are currently $37 per year membership ($27 for renewals).
