O-M ARES Announcements

· Next OMEN regular session is 5 May 2009. It will be held on the 145.170- W2MO (MOARC) repeater at 1815 local time.

·  

· SKYWARN Training—28 Attended Training on 28 Apr 2009 at the Oneida-Madison BOCES in Verona, NY hosted by MOARC for O-M ARES.  A second Training session is going to be conducted in Marcy, NY and will be hosted by CNYARC.

·  

· CDEN is now off the air. The Central District Emergency Net is no longer holding regularly scheduled sessions. Sessions will be called on an as needed basis. POC – AK2Z, CDEN Net Manager.

·  

· Central District Emergency Coordinator resigns. Walt N2IK has stepped down as DEC for the Central District over a year ago. A hunt is on for a replacement. If you have any ideas, please pass them on to us or send them directly to the SEC (KC2DKB) and/or the SM (W2LC) for consideration - Tnx.

· NWS BGM Strom Survey for 25 Aug 2007 Storm through Rome NY. NWS BGM's Dave Nicosia, KC2PLQ, said in an email to Mike KB2CCD - “You guys [O-M SKYWARN] are doing a GREAT job up there...keep up the good work!!!”

 

· RACES NEWS – Oneida County is working on getting RACES ID cards for those ONEIDA County members. For more information, contact the Radio Officer (RO), Mike Carl, KB2AUJ.

 

· O-M ARES members have participate in numerous Public Service Events. They include (but are not limited to) The Boiler Maker, Tour-de-cure, Rome Honor America Days Parade, Drums Along the Mohawk and the Pumpkin Patrol. If you know of a Public Service event that needs Amateur Radio assistance, please let me know and we will publicize it for you – Mike – KB2CCD
