Martha Merrill

OTTUMWA — Martha H. "Fry" Merrill, 103, of Ridgewood Care Center died at 6:50 p.m. May 17, 1991, at the Ridgewood Care Center.

She was born Sept 26, 1887, in Monroe County to Thomas and Emily Woodford Fry. She married Charles A. Merrill May 22, 1907, in Albia. He died May 15, 1960.

She was a member of Martha Merrill Evangelistic Foursquare Church in Ottumwa.

Five daughters, Beulah Kilfoil and Lucille Merrill of Des Moines, Ruth Munley, Ilene Coulter and, Vilene Given of Ottumwa; three sons, Harold of Lincoln, Ill., Bernard of Burlington, and Bob of Fairfield; 42 grandchildren; 85 great-grandchildren; and 28 great-great grandchildren survive her.

She was preceded in’ death by two daughters, Emily Dalbey and Bessie Smith; three sons Willard, Gene, and Raymond; two brothers, Tom and Joe Fry; and three sisters, Mae Sylvester, Amelia Finley, and Clara Gathercole.

The service will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Reece Funeral Home, the Rev. George King of the Evangelistic Foursquare Church officiating. Burial will be in the Oak View Cemetery in Albia.

The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.

Pallbearers will be Mark, Mathew, Chuck, Gary Gene, Jerry and Paul David Merrill, Richard Coulter Jr., Joe and John Munley, Keith Pickrell and Bob Grimes.

A memorial has been established to Evangelistic Foursquare Church.
