Rear Axle Housing, Billet Axles, and Rear Disc Brakes

Updated 08/17/06

Received my axle housing and rear disc brakes today (7/27/06).  I checked FedEx tracking, the third box with the axles took a right turn and ended up in Utah.  I’m guessing they are arriving tomorrow or Saturday?  Yep, arrived Saturday.

Some details on the package:

Powder coated housing, new DOM tubes, special ends with Mopar pattern that accept Timken Set 20 axle bearings (same bearing as large style late 70’s Ford 9”).  10.7” disc brakes with stainless flex lines, Mustang Cobra calipers, and integral parking brake.  New hard lines, T, and hose.  Custom axles with Set 20 wheel bearings and 3” lug studs.  3/8” thick bearing retainers.  Custom E-brake cables.  Package purchased from Cass Eslick.

10.7” disc brakes: modified Toyota rotors, cobra calipers w/ integral parking brakes.

Dutchman billet axles, 3” screw in studs, Timken Set 20 bearing, 3/8” retainer.  Quality stuff!

One last look at the old stuff in the car…

…and out on the garage floor.

Saturday night, 11pm, time for bed.

Housing, axles, brakes, tires, E-brake cables… ready to bleed the system.

Done!

Hmmm… 295/50-15s look a little small, time for the 325/50 drag radials.
