NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma head men's golf coach Jim Ragan announced Thursday the signing of Anthony Kim to a national letter of intent for the 2003-04 academic year.

"We're delighted that Anthony Kim has chosen the University of Oklahoma to play college golf," said Ragan. "He has been an outstanding player for many years in the junior ranks."

Kim is a very talented player who has made it a habit of being one of the top-finishers in competitive junior tournaments around the country. Kim has nine career top-10 finishes in national events. He finished first at the 2001 Junior World Championships, first at the 2001 AJGA Ping Phoenix Junior Championshiops and was a member of the 2002 AJGA Canon Cup Team. He represented the United States at the 2002 Toyota Junior Golf World Cup in Japan, where he finished 12th. Kim is currently ranked third among juniors in the most recent Golfweek rankings.

"Anthony is an impact type player and I feel like he will be a good contributor to our golf program," said Ragan. "He has shown promise not only in the junior ranks but also in men's amateur events. He finished 2nd in the 2002 United States men's amateur in the stroke play portion of the event."
