Legal Advice

#1:  I'm not a lawyer.  If I voice an opinion or quote a document and the subject  is relevant to your situation, read the document for yourself and don't rely on my interpretation. Make your decision based on your own interpretation.

#2:  I'm not a lawyer.  Anything I say is based on what I've read and how I've interpreted it.  If you feel that there may be negative legal repercussions from a decision you're about to make, consult a lawyer.

Search This Site

I tried installing an 'on-this-site' search gizmo, but I didn't find it satisfactory, so I deleted it.  Despite this, The Military Homeschooler site can be searched using Google.  Just put in what you want to look for, and add "milhmschlhq" to the search terms.

  • Vintage 1996 publication:   Frequently Asked Questions about Homeschooling in Europe and One Homeschooler's Answers.  The download takes a minute or so because of the size of the file.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Contemporary publication Tossed by the Fates
Tossed by the Fates is a blogged book for homeschooling parents with the American military.  At this time it is still a work in progress, with new entries added as time goes by.

Linking on this site, and to this site

To bookmark specific pages from The Military Homeschooler web site use the URL http://home.roadrunner.com/~milhmschlhq/   This is the server URL for The Military Homeschooler web site.

The URL http://www.militaryhomeschoolers.com is a 'pointer URL'/domain name -- it's easy to remember, but will bookmark only the 'front page' of the site (this one) no matter which page you're on when you use the  bookmark function.  For bookmarking, use the URL of the linked page as in the first paragraph.

The linking to another site from The Military Homeschooler does not indicate endorsement of that site or advertising on that site; it's what I could find regarding each item.  The Military Homeschooler site owner (me) receives no payment from any linked site, and accepts no advertising.  I only get fame; no fortune so far.

Contact information

Before you email, please be aware that merely because this is a homeschool support website does not mean it is religiously oriented, conservatively oriented, Republican oriented (or Democrat oriented), or that I am interested in reading about the latest ad farm that mentions the word homeschool.

I Google new commercial contacts just to see what pops up, and I use Who Is on the off chance that the domain name's contact information is not hidden.

Otherwise, you may contact the siteowner, Valerie Moon, at the_military_homeschooler at hotmail. Add the dot com.  Please do not expect a quick reply as the Hotmail account's most significant traffic is spam and 'real people' email perhaps once every other month, so I don't have checking the website's email account at the top of my 'to do list.'  If a quick answer is needed, please join a homeschool-specific email group and ask the long-time homeschoolers their opinions.  You'll get an answer much more quickly, and a wider range of replies.

People moving to foreign countries should try Ann Zeise's website for the most current information available within the homeschooling community if a search doesn't produce any useful information.
