Improvements
1. Added a Windows printing system to allow SCBA Trak and SCBA BOSS to use virtually
any printer that's recognized by Windows, including Symantec's WinFax and other similar products. There is no longer a need to "capture
the port" to print to a network printer. "Windows-only" printers work fine also. When you go to print a report, you are shown the last
printer you used, an option to print to a disk file (if it is not an evaluation version), and an option to select a different printer.
If you decide to select a different printer, only your installed printers will show up. Your selection will become the default for
the next report.
When SCBA Trak is used for the first time, it launches an included Windows program named "SCBA Trak Print Spooler" that
immediately minimizes itself to the "system tray" area. This is the little area usually directly to the left of the time display on the
same row as the Start button. The print spooler icon looks like a printer with a yellow "PS" on it. You can open right-click on it
and cancel print jobs before they are sent to the Windows spooler. After they have been sent to the Windows spooler, you can still
cancel them from there as with any other Windows program.
When you quit SCBA Trak, the print spooler driver is not shut down. Each time you restart the computer, it starts up also. This makes
it immediately available when you restart SCBA Trak.
Because of this change, SCBA Trak must be installed on a computer running Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NT 4.
2. Fixed a problem where printing the current status report immediately after entering an update might have caused a long delay
before the report came out of the printer.
3. Fixed a problem in the "Find all packs due for flow test or reg. O/H through a selected date" report where selecting both the
regulator overhaul report and flow test report would cause the flow test dates to show up on the screen, but on the printed report the
dates would show up as "not chekd".
4. Fixed the problem with name changes where the counter could give a "201 of 199"
erroneous display. Added a progress twirler to the "updating names list" from the name change function.
5. Fixed the problem with the fill log not having a pop up name list associated with it when adding a newly filled bottle and using
imported data from the air bottle inventory.
6. Increased the amount of memory the program can use. This results in faster operation when working with very large data files.
Improved the speed of the program dramatically
7. Corrected the problem where SCBA Trak could cause an error message of "Signal out of range" or "Out of scan range" when running on
Windows NT 4 or large monitors.
8. SCBA Trak now defaults to running in a window as opposed to full screen so the Windows Clipboard can be used easily. If you change
to full screen mode, you will notice that the mouse cursor is a "block" instead of an arrow.
9. Corrected a problem on Windows NT where, after restoring a data file from a backup, the program might erroneously report that the
backup was not successful because of a time difference.
10. Fixed a problem where the "Due List - Detailed" report was not sorted alphabetically by owner name when multiple owners were
listed.
11. Changed the operation of the pick list when using the "Single" maintenance history report. Previously the pick list only showed
records that had a current record. In other words, it did not show any records that were only in the history file. Some people had a
need to search the history file for records of equipment that had been disposed of. The pick list now shows both current and history
records.
12. Corrected a problem that might cause high CPU utilization when using
the program under Windows NT. This could cause other programs running at the same time as SCBA Trak to run slower than normal.
13. Changed all of the browse screens so they will show all four digits of the year, when appropriate.
14. Corrected a crash when using Windows 2000 when the mouse was moved
or clicked rapidly.
