How Do I Know How Many Licenses We Need?

SCBA Trak is licensed on a "per-simultaneous-user" basis. The full End User License Agreement is found here in the Online Manual.

If you have only one person using the program, then you only need one license.

If you have more than one person using the program, but they will never be using it at the same time (different shifts, for example), you still only need one license.

If you're running a repair center (for example) and will have more than one person using the program at the same time, you need a license for each person. Example: If you have four technicians, two per shift, you need two licenses. If all four are on the same shift, you need four licenses. If the service manager and a sales person will also be using SCBA Trak while the technicians are using it, you need a license for each of them also.

This licensing program is known as "concurrent" licensing and provides you with the flexibility to purchase only as many licenses as will be needed at a given instant. Think of it the same way you would think of a book. Just as two people cannot read the same book simultaneously (without purchasing a second copy), two people cannot use SCBA Trak simultaneously (without purchasing an "Additional Simultaneous User" license). Most other software is licensed on a "per user" basis.

A "per user" license requires you to purchase a license for each person using the program at any time. In the scenario above where you have four technicians on two shifts, "concurrent" licensing allows you to purchase two licenses. "Per user" licensing would require you to purchase four licenses, even though no more than two would be in use at any time.
