SCBA Trak Customer Support -- Tech Note #0

Some of my composite cylinders now qualify for a 5 year hydro. How do I update the record?

SUMMARY

Beginning in 2001 some composite cylinders can have a 5 year hydro retest interval instead of a 3 year interval. This applies to both new and retested cylinders. You must check with your equipment vendor to see if your cylinders qualify. There are two steps to reconfiguring your SCBA Trak or SCBA BOSS program to handle this change.

PROCEDURE

  1. Since there is no default menu selection for a 5-year hydro test interval, you probably want to add one. Start the program and go into the Air Bottle module.
  2. Select "Program different air bottle types to the list box" and press Enter. The dialog box you now see is how the menu is set up when adding a new bottle record or when modifying an existing record. Pick an unused or rarely used line and change it to the new Working pressure, Air bottle type, Hydro test interval, Maximum life and Hydro test pressure. Either press Enter repeatedly to exit and save the changes or press the Page Down key to save the changes.
  3. Bring up the screen of the cylinder you need to change from a 3 year hydro to a 5 year hydro.
  4. Change the Working Pressure field to a zero and press Enter. The newly configured menu will come up. Select the correct line and press Enter.
  5. Change the Last Hydro Test Date field to the new date and press the Page Down key to save and exit the record. Note: If you do not change the Last Hydro Test Date field, the record may not be updated for the new test interval. If you previously updated this field, change it to a different date (maybe a month's difference), exit the record to save it and then go back into the record and change it to the correct date.
