What's New!

Dec. 11, 2005 - Put free upgrades for registered users of both SCBA Trak and SCBA BOSS on the web site.

Sept. 14, 2003 - Removed the online ordering for new versions of SCBA Trak. The company that produced the development tool that SCBA Trak is written in has sold the business to another company and it was discontinued. In addition, I retired from the fire service earlier this year and do not believe that I can keep the program updated and relevant without working anymore. I have left the upgrade order links for current customers that want to get the Windows XP SP1 compatible version.

November 20, 2002 - Updated the free downloadable evaluation version to v3.5, which works with Windows XP.

July 23, 2002 - Added a Tech Note regarding compatibility with Windows XP.

November 7, 2001 - Added a Tech Note for how to handle the new 5 year hydro test interval that is available for certain composite cylinders.

April 11, 2001 - We have switched to an outside company to process credit card orders. This enables you to use a wider variety of cards as well as select the correct currency exchange rate if you are not in the United States. Your statement will show the charge as having come from www.cardquery.com

Feb. 12, 2001 - A few people using peer-to-peer networks have been experiencing error messages saying a \Spool folder could not be created or a "red box" error when trying to print. The problem has been duplicated and corrected in version 3.03, which began shipping today. All users of version 3.02 or 3.01 will be receiving new update disks in the mail within one week. If you need the fix sooner, please email me and I will give you a link where you can download the new version.

October 12, 2000 - The problem with the history reports has been found and corrected. It did not result in the loss or corruption of any data. We have started shipping the fixed version 3.02 as of today, and all people who were shipped 3.01 will receive a new copy in the mail shortly. We apologize for the inconvenience and delay.

Sept. 22, 2000 - A problem was reported where maintenance history records might not be found when a report is generated. We have stopped shipment of SCBA Trak and SCBA BOSS until the problem can be isolated. Although we had hoped to have all of the outstanding upgrades shipped, that did not happen. Please be patient while we sort this out.

August 20, 2000-SCBA Trak and SCBA BOSS version 3.01 have been released! The programs sport a new printing interface that allows you to print to any print device installed on your computer, whether it's a local printer, a network printer or even fax software! Windows NT and Windows 2000 Professional compatibility have been improved significantly. Please click the Improvements link for detailed information on all of the changes.

We have also revised our "Automatic Upgrade Subscription" program to more effectively meet your needs:

bulletEffective with version 3.x, all bug fix patches will be posted on the web site for download. When we started the Upgrade Subscription many years ago, the Internet was in its infancy and many people did not even have modems to dial into our bulletin board to receive updates. So we decided to send out all patches individually. This is no longer necessary.
bulletThe upgrade program assures your people will receive all new versions for the next year for $40. If you decide to skip a version, the full price will apply.

Why this last change? We had a lot of people who were understandably upset that they had supported us for each new version, and we were allowing other people to upgrade from several versions earlier for the same price they were paying.

Yes, we understand budget cycles. This new policy on upgrade pricing will not go into effect until January 1, 2001.

When will my copy arrive?

We are striving to have all upgrades shipped by November 15, 2000.

I just purchased a copy of version 2.70. Will I get the upgrade for free?

If your copy was shipped on or after May 20, 2000, you will receive version 3.01 for free. If you subscribed to the Automatic Upgrade Subscription on or after May 20, 2000, the start date for your subscription has already been changed to August 20, 2000.
