Overpopulated World |

God
said, "Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth."
(Gen.1:28; 9:1&7) At the Creation and after the flood, God gave
the command to multiply and replenish the earth. He has never taken
that command back. For
years worldly minds have tried to propose that the world is overpopulated.
This concept leads nicely to the idea of abortion. After all, you
wouldn't want to add to the problem, would you? And look at China
and India, with its thronging millions walking all over each other.
And look at New York City and all the other crowded cities of the world! Yes,
but I ask you to look at all the empty spaces on earth: deserts, frozen
areas, hot jungles, etc. OK, you say people can't live there. Well,
have you ever taken a trip across our wonderful country and seen miles of
uninhabited land? And usable land, too. Just look at the
sparsely populated areas of your own state, and you'll see what I mean. So,
we can rejoice in verses found in the Bible like Psalm 127:3,5
"Lo children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb
is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are
children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of
them: they shall not be ashamed, but speak with the enemies in the gate.
"Children of the youth will grow up and meet the enemy in the gate
and protect their parents in their old age.” Yes, we are living in the Last Days where Natural affection is at a low ebb, Romans 1:30,31, but I plead with you to love your children! Teach them respect for parents, the laws of the land and especially for their dear Heavenly Father. Spend time with them, and much prayer for them! Do not let anyone condemn you if God blesses you with a large family, or if you have no children. Proverbs gives us much good advice on rearing children, "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6) "And ye Fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord." (Ephesians 6:4.)
