Neither the Webbs Mills Church, nor the Spurrs Corner Congregational Church were in a position to support a pastor by themselves, so they shared a pastor, beginning with Jacob Bouw in 1951. An oil furnace was installed in 1961. Also, a partition was put in by the stairs and ceiling, and walls finished and painted. Combination windows and screens were installed on all windows in 1972. In September 1968 the heirs of Bella Edwards (Churchill Edwards, Edith Corinne Edes, Lucille Flanagin, and Donna M. Curtis) deeded a parcel of land to the church. A parking lot was completed on this land in July 1972. In 1975 three Sunday School rooms were finished off in one side of the basement. We officially affiliated with the Christian and Missionary Alliance on April 1, 1982. During the time Rev. Robert Smith was pastor. The time came when Spurrs Corner wanted their own pastor, and this was accomplished in March 1987 when Rev Walter Ray became pastor of Webbs Mills Church and Rev. Robert Smith remained at Spurrs Corner Congregational Church.. The present pastor, Rev. Walter Ray, came to us on March 2, 1987. He is an Ordained Baptist minister working under a worker's permit from the Christian and Missionary Alliance. In 1990 many improvements were made. A well was drilled and rest rooms and septic tank was installed. Since then the church has been painted, the parking lot redone, an access ramp installed and other matters of upkeep were completed. Since Rev. Ray's being pastor the church has maintained a video program on the local community channels.
