The dog warden called me on a Sunday evening in the beginning of September of 2003. She told me that late Friday afternoon she received a call about a neglect case of a dog tied to a utility pole behind an apartment building without any food, water or shelter. They also gave the name of the people that owned the dog. She went to the home & spoke with the wife. She denied that it was their dog. The dog warden placed the little dog in the back of her truck, posted a sign on the pole "I've got your dog, the dog warden" & brought her to the pound. She told me her 3 days would be up on Wednesday if no one claims her. She also told me about some other breeds at the pound that my friend rescues. So we went to the pound on Wednesday & she was still there. She was very out of coat & had no hair around her neck from her collar rubbing in that area. I was very surprised to note tht she was missing 4 teeth (which came in a few days later) & that she was a pure bred chow. We ended up just taking her into our rescue. Please go to happy tails for the happy ending for Amber.
