Volunteers are the heart of rescue. They are the ones who pick up, transport, bathe, evaluate, train, house and rehabilitate dogs. Foster families play a crucial role in animal rescue. For so many animals that come into rescue care, the foster home serves as a transition from a life of neglect into the world of beloved companion. Many animals may never have known the comforts of home and the love of a family. Foster families provide animals a place to heal their spirits and sometimes their bodies while they wait for their forever families to find them. Fostering is a rewarding and sometimes challenging experience. It may be difficult to say good-bye, but you'll know it has been worthwhile when your foster has a forever home to call his own.

There are also other ways to volunteer with rescue, not all volunteers handle or foster dogs. Some screen adopters, answer telephones, mail information, educate the public, manage websites, computer data entry, bookkeeping, tax work, help with fundraising, and solicit support.
