AWARD GUIDELINES


1. Pack pays for 1 per Cub of the below awards regardless of how many times the award has been earned -

Academic and Sports beltloops and pins - Pack pays for 1 each of 41. Pack pays for 1 certificate per month regardless of how many earned.

(Adults) Tiger Cub Leader Award, Den Leader Award, Cub Scouter Award, Webelos Den Leader Award, Cubmaster Award. Pack will pay for these awards after the application has been signed and approved by pack committee chairman or Cubmaster, AND District.

BSA Family program - Individuals pay for extra patches, pins, certificates.

BSA Physical Fitness Award

Career Arrow - Pack will pay $20 per Cub in 5th grade, any overages will be paid for by the individual and/or den.

Conservation Good Turn

Crime Prevention Award

Cub Scout 75th anniversary awards - Leaders/Families pay for own.

Donor Awareness Award Patch

Emergency Preparedness

Good turn for America - Pack pays for 1 patch, and 1 rocker for additional years earned.

Greater Dallas Historical Patch

Helmet Safety Patch

Leave No Trace - Leaders pay for own.

Outdoor Activity Award Pocket Flap - Pack pays for Flap the 1st time earned, and pays for a wolf track pin each additional time earned for a total of 4 pins. Program is not retroactive and starts 2004-2005 school year.

Perfect Attendance Bar - Pack pays for 1 per year totaling 5.

Quality unit - Pack pays for 1 patch per each registered member, per year.

Rank cards - Pack pays 1 per each 6 ranks.

Rank parent pins - Pack pays 1 per each 6 ranks.

Recruiter strip

Religious knot - Pack will buy after you have earned the pin. Pack won't pay for pin. Pack will not pay for Devices for earning award a second time.

Service Star - Pack pays for a total of 1 per year, per each registered member. Pack pays for card.

The Texas Badge

Tiger Elective Beads - pack pays for maximum of 12.

Webelo Activity Badges - Pack pays for 1 each of 20. 1 certificate per awards month, regardless of how many earned.

Whittlin' Chip - pack pays 1 patch, 1 certificate, per Cub.

Wolf/Bear Arrow Points - Pack buys maximum of 12. 1 certificate per awards month, regardless of how many earned.

2. Pack pays for more than once -

National Den Award Ribbon

National Summertime Pack Award Den ribbon

National Summertime Pack Award individual pin (Pack pays for official pin the first time, and a generic "summer" patch for every time earned thereafter.)


3. Pack pays for without your submittal - Packmaster program notifies advancement chair when the Cub has earned it.

5. Rank badges - Paid for by Ross Perot, through Circle 10 Council, submit to advancement chair.


6. Pack has the authority to decide on an as needed basis more patches that can be given if volunteers plan such events. The pack will purchase awards/patches only if all scouts have the opportunity to participate and it is approved by the pack committee as a pack-wide event. These would include, but not limited to -

Community Service

Campout

Fundraiser

Parade

Pinewood derby

Popcorn sales

Scouting for Food

Etc.


7. Awards need to be applied for in the year earned.

8. Awards need to be submitted for you to receive them. Advancement chair is not omniscient.

9. In the event that an award has a choice of a patch, pin, or certificate, the pack will opt to pay for the patch only.

10. Pack won't pay for replacements for any reason.

11. Reimbursement for duplicate awards and/or anything you want the advancement chair to buy for you at the scout shop for personal reasons, will be rounded up to the nearest dollar.

12. The advancement Chairperson will follow all BSA guidelines and regulations and cannot secure awards in advance of their completion. Pack won't order awards in anticipation of them being earned.

13. The awards should be "policed" by everyone (parents), not only the advancement chairman. The entire pack is responsible for upholding the integrity of the program and each award. The advancement chairman cannot investigate the completion of all awards; however, if it is questionable to the advancement chairperson (or any parent) that the award criteria have not been completed, further documentation may be requested.

14. Pack may make revisions on award guidelines with a majority vote at any parent leader meeting.

15. The requirements for perfect attendance are “no more than one missed pack meeting, and attending at or above 85% den meetings”. [added Sept 5, 2006]
