(When we bid for the convention - I believe in 1995 it was hosted in Suffolk County) - check out the hall - it's beautiful - the left side of the bldg is a large kitchen & hall the middle a large foyer that leads upstairs to meeting rooms & a library & the right is the bar area. There is a
copy of "Melancholy
Madness" in
the Hall for you to look at. It is written by Michelle
McGoff-McCann of
Binghamton; daughter of Kevin McGoff.
"Trinity" by Leon Uris is a must read. A novel based on the history of Ireland spanning from the Great Hunger to the early 1900s.
"Paddy's Lament" by Thomas Gallagher gives the reader a better understanding of the Irish Famine of 1846-48.
"The Story of the Irish Race: A Popular History of Ireland" by Seamus MacManus brings you through nearly two millennia of events in Irish history. Though not entirely factual, as MacManus uses some poetic license in his stories, it does give some very interesting history of the Irish Saints and changes that occurred on the Emerald Isle.
