    ~ ~ ~ ~

Congratulations to all of the winners from our September lottery. We received just under ½ of the tickets back.

Thanks to Darlene for getting the checks out fast. The money we made will go towards many charitable events.

The Hooley was lots of fun. If you didn’t attend, plan on it next year. The committee reports it was a huge success.

The entertainment was fantastic, it was fun working the food table and it was great seeing lots of people. The committee puts a lot of

work into this event to make it a success. Congratulations to anyone who won a basket or a prize from the big board.

Thanks to all who helped make the garden at Ross Park for our Day of Caring project look great on September 11th. Your hard work is appreciated.

Just a reminder about the upcoming rummage sale. All clean clothes and items in good condition are accepted.

We are co-sponsoring this event with Division I. The drop off is October 2nd, sale days October 3rd 9-5, October 4th 9-12.

We have a craft/fund raiser project in mind. We are using liquor bottles and making candles or filling them with Christmas lights.

Dan Haggerty is in the process of cutting the bottles. I hope to have some to show you at the next meeting.

I had a bottle with a candle in it at our last meeting. If anyone else has an idea or would like to help give me a call.

The County Board meeting has been rescheduled for October 7th at 5:30. All are welcome, officers need to attend.

Kate registered us for the Ethnic Festival being held at the Broome County Arena on October 25th. If you would like to help out at the table, give her a call.

We will be having our annual Harvest dinner after our next meeting, October 17th. The meeting will be at 6:00 pm with dinner to follow. Please bring your favorite dish to share.

Division I is have their annual Celtic New Year’s Celebration (Halloween Party) on October 25th. Costumes are not required, but it is a lot of fun seeing everyone dressed up. There will be music, snacks, a costume contest and a cash bar. You don’t want to miss it. Tickets are available.

Along with the ladies from Division I, we are sponsoring a Sock Hop. Bill Grace will be bringing his great show to the AOH hall on November 22nd. You can purchase tickets for $3.00 and the night of the dance you need to bring an item for CHOW. I have heard his show is wonderful. Profits will be donated to CHOW. There will be a cash bar. Plan on attending from 7-10 pm. Tickets available at the hall or call me 761-2374.
