Next meeting October 21st (third Tuesday) – 7:00pm
I hope everyone
had a great summer. As we begin to look forward to the fall there are many
activities coming up.
On the weekend of October 3rd and 4th the Fall State Board meeting will
take place in conjunction with the Pro Life Mass and the New York State
President’s testimonial dinner. There will be a special reception at the
Albany AOH Hall on Friday night October 3rd, starting at 8pm. This will feature
a FREE concert by local favorites Hair of the Dog as well as some light snacks.
The
ProLife Mass will be held on Saturday October 4th at 9am at St. Mary’s Church
in downtown Albany. The State Board Meeting will follow this at 10:30am at the
Crowne Plaza Hotel and the dinner that night starting at 6pm.
The Broome County Ethnic Festival will be held on October 25th
from 11AM thru 5PM. We’ll have tables reserved along with both the LAOH
divisions. Please contact myself, Hugh Reynolds or Pat Harding if you have any
ideas or memorabilia that could be used for our display. Also, please contact
one of us if you’re interested in helping out that day. Look forward to seeing
you there.
We’d like to congratulate both the LAOH divisions for their
very successful Hooley held recently. Everyone had a fantastic time. The
entertainment, food and baskets made this an enjoyable evening. If you’ve
never been to one, consider attending next year’s festivities. You’ll have a
great time.
Our division will be selling Lottery tickets in November. This
is one of our main fundraisers for the year. I’m asking for your support with
selling the tickets. Please contact myself or John Kane for more information.
A nominating committee
has been established for next year’s slate of officers. If you have any
nominations or are interested in running for a particular office please contact
Tom Kelly or Bill Ryan.
A major Degree will be
held in Lockport, NY – Division 4 in Niagara County. It is scheduled for
October 18th at Desales Catholic School. Contact Matt O’Byrne at
(716)-433-1461. The cost is $25.00 which will be reimbursed by the division.
Please ensure you contact
us if you have an address change. It’s the only way we can keep our records
straight and ensure you’ll get all the mailings.
FYI … our next meeting is October 21st at 7PM at the AOH
Hall. Look forward to seeing you there. Please continue to support the hall.
