Long considered strictly a mainframe language, PL/I is now the focus of renewed interest, particularly in view of its acknowledged security advantages over C. New compilers are available or under development on a range of platforms, and software is being ported to PL/I.

Thanks to a Time Warner screwup, my PL/I pages were deleted.
I am currently in the process of restoring them, so some links might not
work (yet). Hopefully, everything will be recovered eventually.
In the meantime, be warned that the only thing worse than Time Warner's personal homepage service is their totally useless tech support. I would recommend using almost anyone else, and I expect to be moving these pages elsewhere soon. |
