What can I do for you?

I've been asked to play for a wide variety of events. Listed below is a list of some of these events and how much I've charged (or would charge).

By no means am I limited to what's on this list; this is only provided to give you an idea of what I can do and to give you a ballpark price!

Note that all charges are negotiable. If you can't afford my rates, let's talk about it! (We'll make it work; I'm even willing to barter!) Or, if you want to pay me more, there'll be no argument from me! :-)
Event Typical charge Additional notes
Standard charge
(other than events listed below)
Usually $100 See list for exceptions
Wedding ceremony or similar event $100 (regardless of length)
Wedding reception or cocktail party $100 one hour or less, $35 every additional hour, plus tips
Equipment charge Add $40 to base cost This charge applies only if I need to bring large equipment, specifically my portable keyboard and amp. If a piano is available for me to play, this charge is waived.

If a piano is available, it needs to be in good playing condition (and, preferably, in tune). If not, I will bring my equipment, and the charge will apply.

This charge does not apply if you're hiring me to play clarinet!
Distance charge Varies – let's talk There is no additional charge if the event is within the immediate Capital District or within the following geographic boundaries:
  • North: Glens Falls, NY
  • South: Hudson/Catskill, NY
  • East: Pittsfield/Lee/N. Adams, MA
  • West: Johnstown/Gloversville/Amsterdam, NY
  • NE: Bennington, VT
  • SW: Cobleskill/Schoharie, NY
For other areas, I will request reimbursement for gas and tolls, the amount of which will depend on the distance. If an overnight stay is required, I will also request room reimbursement.

I won't request meal reimbursement, but also won't turn it down if offered!
Lessons Varies (see notes) Note: I am not a certified teacher! My teaching services amount to musical tutoring. If you are seeking more formal lessons or training, I'd suggest contacting a local school, studio, or teacher.

My rates are generally as follows:
For 1-3 people, $25 per person
For 4 or more people, $100 for entire group
These rates assume a one hour lesson; for other than one hour, let's discuss.
Accompaniment Varies Factors may include (but are not limited to) program length, piece difficulty, # of performers, etc.
Jam session "just for fun" FREE!!! Hey, I'm always willing to jam!
Web page design Varies I know this has nothing to do with music, but…

I built this page myself, and have also worked on a number of others. If you like what you see, let's talk!
