Improving the Chicom Chest Pouch

The ammo carrier designed for the SKS stripper clips is a chest pouch worn around the chest. It has (10) pockets that allow it to hold 220 rounds on stripper clips. The pouch is made of canvas so for more wet weather performance I sprayed mine with a good heavy coat of silicone based water repellent spray. The chest pouch has straps that cross over the chest and a back strap that is meant to be tied. I needed a better attaching system than a tied strap so I found on an old fanny pack a small 1" plastic quick detachable latch. With a couple of other strap/sling holders I made loops and installed the plastic latch. Works great now and is quick and easy detachable.
