What's New?

    - Astronomy & Space -

  • The next shuttle mission STS-125 is expected to launch on May 12th. During Servicing Mission 4 (SM4), astronauts will make the final trip to the Hubble Telescope. Over the course of five spacewalks, they will install two new instruments, repair two inactive ones, and perform the component replacements that will keep the telescope functioning at least into 2014.
  • Join us for an evening under the stars at Lake Mineral Wells State Park on Saturday evening, April 18th for a Binocular Astronomy program. This event will familiarize participants with constellations of the season, and objects of interest using nothing but your binoculars. The program will start with a slide presentation, how to use binoculars, followed by binocular observation. Bring binoculars, if you have them. Don't have binoculars? Not to worry! We have binoculars on loan for the event. Reservations are required. Please call the park to register (940) 328-1171.
  • Check out Astroprof's Blog! It's the best blog for timely astronomy and space related articles.
