Welcome to ClayBrooke! If you are new to our neighborhood, you may have a thousand questions regarding the community, but are unsure where to turn for answers. Below are some frequently asked questions that new residents have, and a brief answer:
Is there a Residents Directory for the neighborhood? Yes, ClayBrooke has a Residents Directory that provides not only names, addresses, phone numbers, and family information, but also other items such as religious affiliation (if provided) and favorite hobbies/activities of our residents. To obtain a directory, please contact Steve Lancashire at (704) 503-1911.
How can I get into the Pool? Marek Syska is head of the Pool Committee and can provide you with the appropriate code, along with a copy of the Pool Rules. He can be contacted at (704) 510-9235.
Are there any rules governing the neighborhood that I should be aware of? Yes, there are covenants that govern ClayBrooke, and the multiple page document is posted on the website. Some of the basic rules are as follows:
Trash containers, lawn mowers and similar items cannot be left in view of neighbors and streets. If you want to store your garbage container outside, a fence or adequate planting must be used to conceal these items.
Residents should not park their cars on the streets. Guests, however, are allowed to park on the street for short durations.
Laundry lines are not permitted in the neighborhood.
No above ground pools are allowed.
Dog runs or animal cages are not permitted.
Any home additions, decks, fences, walls, etc must be pre-approved by the architectural committee PRIOR TO having any work done. A copy of the application can be obtained from this website.
Seasonal decorations must be removed within 30 days from the date of the holiday.
If any owner shall violate or attempt to violate these restrictions, failure to comply with these restrictions shall be grounds for an action to recover sums due for damages or injunctive relief or both.
Is there any form of ongoing communication to homeowners? Yes, the ClayBrooke HomeOwners Assocation circulates a periodical newsletter to keep residents up-to-date on current issue. Articles can be submitted to Lori Smith at lorismith97@bellsouth.net.
Are there any social groups within the neighborhood? Yes, there are several social groups that meet regularly. A women's Bunko group meets the first Thursday of each month, and those interested can contact Marianne Seyler at (704) 503-3125. There is also a women's midday group that usually meets the first Monday of each month. If interested, contact Alicia Greve at (704) 594-9395. Other information on social groups can be obtained by looking through recent issues of the newsletter located on this site.
Are neighborhood social events held? Yes, in the past we have held Fall Festivals, Christmas get-togethers, and summer pool gatherings. Look for information on these events in the neighborhood newsletter.
Are Homeowner meetings held? Yes, Homeowner meetings are held on a regular basis. Fliers are circulated when a neighborhood meeting will be held. Upcoming meetings are also noted in the ClayBrooke Newsletter.
Are there neighborhood dues? Yes, neighborhood dues are billed every 6 months. Our current fee is $420 a year, broken into two $210 payments. These bills usually arrive in April and October. Our neighborhood dues go into the HOA budget and pay for the landscaping of our community areas, pool maintenance, management company fees, and other such items. A complete copy of the annual budget is provided to HomeOwners at least once per year.
Is there a Board of Directors for the HomeOwners Association? Yes, currently there are five residents on the Board, each serving a 3-year term. To locate the current Board members' names and phone numbers, please refer to the most recent newsletter posted on this site.
