Eight year old Mitchell Colston drew the attached pictures and wrote the Story line between September 4th and September 6th of 2001.
On September 9th Mitchell had a dream that he tried to explain to his mother. Upon seeing the events unfold at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, he explained to his mother that that event is what he had dreamed two nights prior .
Acts 2: 17 (KJV)
And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour
out of my Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and daughters shall prophesy,
and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
I do not claim that my son is qifted in any way and I do not claim that the end of the world is at hand, since no man knows the date or the hour that Christ Jesus will return. I do believe that there is a reason for Mitchell's book and his dream. If nothing else, in light of Acts 2:17, it is a conversation piece to start a dialog about one's spiritual health. I do believe that we are living in the last days and that Christ is coming. As my pastor, Brother Patrick Mead, shared on the evening of the attack, there are a lot of uncertainties in the world today, but death is certain. When we will die is the uncertainty of the certain, and for that reason we should be prepared for it. Through faith I believe that Christ walked on this earth as a sinless man, died on the cross as the ultimate sacrifice for my sins, and rose on the 3rd day to reign in Heaven at the right hand of His Father, God. The Holy Spirit lives within me and I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This faith in Jesus Christ gives me the peace and hope that I need to live life without fear of death.
You ask, how could God let the events of September 11th, 2001, happen in our country? God is permissive. He lets us make our own decisions and by our sinful nature, which we are born with because of Adams decision to disobey, man makes sinful decisions. Ultimately sin, sinful decisions through the sinful nature of man, caused the destruction of the World Trade Center in New York City.
The country as a whole is now praying to God for answers. God already provided the answer 2000 years ago. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16)." Through my faith in Jesus Christ I have hope for tomorrow and I look forward to His return. I do not fear living and I do not fear death. I am one of the most patriotic Americans you will ever find and I literally cried over the events of September 11th and how it has shaken our nation. I cried for those who lost their lives, particularly for those that have gone on to eternity without knowing Jesus as their Saviour, and I cry and pray for those that are going to die as the United States moves forward to do what is necessary (yes, I stand behind our President). I do not understand why bad things happen to good people and I do not have all of the answers, but I do pray that everyone who reads this has the same hope for tomorrow and is prepared for the uncertainty of the certain.
How do you prepare for what is uncertain? How do you live without fear? How do you live with hope? By putting your faith and trust in the One and Only Living Son of God, Jesus Christ.
God Bless You All,
