The Hat Maker
There was once a rich American lady who went to visit the most famous hat maker in Paris. She had heard from many, that he was the best in all the world. Upon entering his small shop, her eyes found a most wonderful ribbon, which she fell in love with immediately. She handed the ribbon to the hat maker and asked if he would make a wonderful hat especially for her. The hat maker took the ribbon, twisted and wound it into a stunning creation. The lady was so impressed and excited, she grab it immediatly. "How much is this ?" she said excitedly. "Five thousand francs" the hat maker responded. "But, it's just ribbon" said the lady. With a flick of his hand, the hat maker undid the the ribbon into a tangled heap. "Madam", he said, "the ribbon is free". | ||
