Who am I?

My name is Gary L. Robinson and I enjoy writing small software projects on my own. My interests, as far as software, are mainly Linux (currently run Ubuntu 9.10 and Kubuntu 8.04),  the Pocket PC and Amateur Radio. I have been a ham operator for 46 years, a PPC user for 6 years, and a Linux user for about 8 years. I enjoy them all very much. All software on this page is FREEWARE unless explicitly noted otherwise.

PPCMCheck ver. 1.42
PPCMCheck is a mail preview application for the Pocket PC -- specifically for the Windows Mobile 2003 (and 2003SE) version software though it may work on other versions. It is written in C# with the .NET Microsoft tools.  PPCMCheck will let you query any pop mail server where you have an account and see what messages you have without having to download them into the default pocket pc version of Outlook. You can preview the messages in ASCII text form (thus you can't download a virus) and get all the pertinent data as to when, where from, how big, etc. You can also delete messages from the pop3 server and get rid of all the spam and/or viruses before downloading the messages you really want to keep with your main client software. PPCMCheck can handle up to 10 different pop3 mail servers and keep their log in info/passwords.  Feel free to comment on the software via the email link at the bottom of this page.

PPCMCheck.exe ver 142 ................... Latest version compiled with Visual Studio 2005.  It is a single executable file.  Suitable for most newer Windows Mobile 2003 or 2005 PPCs with M.S. .NET CF 2.0.  Needs NO installation.  Just download file, put in a folder, put link on menu and/or in programs folder.

EmailSpy is a mail preview program for Windows XP (will probably work under Win95, 98, ME, and 2000 but hasn't been tested on these by me).  I made it primarily for myself and it does NOT have a help file yet.  Just install it and execute it -- it puts a small window in the upper left corner of the screen that can be moved and sized.  The window has a popup menu that can be used to access the settings, etc. and other things.  The window can be minimized and NOT USED AT ALL if the user desires to use the ICON in the system tray.  The icon in the system tray will also display the popup menu by right clicking.  Just putting the mouse over the icon gives number messages waiting status.  The icon will also flash when emails are on your server every time it checks.  When it lets you know emails are at your server - then use the popup menu to Preview the emails, inspect, or delete.  Most of the settings are self explanatory.  Eventually, when time permits, I will write a help file.   EMSpy103.zip    (705kb)

FLDigiRol 3.10.r36  (updated 10-18-2009) -- This version is based off of FLDigi ver. 3.10.  This version can coexist with other versions since the folder that contains the preferences, logs, macros, etc. is not the same as the original version of FLDigi other versions of FLDigiRol.  There is a README file in the archives worth looking at.  It lists the changes and additions made to the original FLDigi 3.10 code.  One known issue is that when you first run the application - you should resize it and then close the app saving the settings. Then restart the application. That way everything will display correctly. The Windows version now supports RigCat and Hqamlib for rig control.

FLDigiRol 3.13BC.r044  (updated 03-08-2010) -- This version is based off of FLDigi ver. 3.13BC.  This version can coexist with other versions since the folder that contains the preferences, logs, macros, etc. is not the same as the original version of FLDigi other versions of FLDigiRol.  There is a README file in the archives worth looking at.  It lists the changes and additions made to the original FLDigi 3.13BC code.  This release fixes several bugs in the previous one (r31) and adds the entire WRAP message code to FLDigiRol - so it's not necessary to use a separate function. Also adds a WRAP Browser to create, save, view, and work with WRAP messages.

FLDigiRol-313BCr044 WinXP Install Program (May also work in Vista and Windows 7)

**The 3.13BCr44 Linux binaries will need the following support libraries installed on your system : libfltk, libhamlib, libjpeg, libpng, libsndfile, libportaudio, libsamplerate, libxmlrpc - These libraries will have numbers (version numbers) at the end of their names like libfltk1.1 or libjpeg62 or libpng12 - the version numbers my vary depending on what version of linux you are running and even how fully the version you have is updated.  As long as the version you install is in Synaptic then it will probably be OK.  You do not need to install the DBG or DEV versions of these libraries unless you decide to compile your own version from the source code.

FLDigiRol 3.21.0AJr010  (updated 01-15-2011) -- This version is based off of FLDigi ver. 3.21.0AJ.  This version can coexist with other versions since the folder that contains the preferences, logs, macros, etc. is not the same as the original version of FLDigi other versions of FLDigiRol.  This version includes several new modes including Contestia.  This version does NOT have ALL the mods that are in the earlier 3.13BC/r044 version but has most of the important ones.  It also has a NEW mod in it (misc. setting page) where support can be added for SDR users who use MY version of ROLSDR on the bottom of this page.  IF you are NOT interested in using it with ROLSDR then just don't enable the SDR support on the Misc settings page.

FLDigiROL 3.21.0AJr010 for WinXP (May also work in Vista and Windows 7)

FLDigiRol 3.21.0AJr010 binary for Ubuntu 9.10 (May work with newer versions of ubuntu and other debian distros)

LogLite 0.96 for Windows - Loglite for WIndows is a simple light weight Ham Radio log program generally written for non-contesters. It has no help file at the time but most of it is self explanatory. One day I hope to have time to not only write a help file but also port it to Linux.

PSDR-Rol.r004 beta  (08-09-2010) -- My version of PowerSDR is based off of the PowerSDR 2.05 that shipped with the Flex 1500 radio.  It makes only cosmetic changes to the program so it will fit on a Netbook 1024x600 screen without having to use a virtual desktop.  I also made it to fit more comfortably on my desktop (which runs 1280x1024 resolution) so it would fit on the same screen with my digital software (FLDigi) at the same time without having to overlap the two programs.  It is a work in progress.  I plan to also make a special edition of FLDigiRol that will integrate more fully with my version of PSDR.

The ZIP download contains only 1 file - the executable file for my version of  PSDR.  To use it you should first install the Flex Radio version of PowerSDR (2.05) which is primarily for the Flex 1500 SDR transceiver.  After installing the Flex version, navigate to the folder where the Flex Radio version of the PowerSDR executable was installed.  On most systems the folder would be :

C:\Program Files\FlexRadio Systems\PowerSDR v2.0.5

Then copy my executable to the same folder and create a short cut for it on the desktop to start the program.  I have only tested this on Windows XP and Windows 7.

After starting my version of PowerSDR you will notice it is a lot shorter AND missing some controls.  It is also missing a TitleBar.  The TitleBar can be reinstated if you need to move the application by clicking on the X button in the left upper corner by the Flex Start button.  You can also move the application by going to either of the BOTTOM corners, click and hold the left mouse button down, and drag the application.

IF you do reinstate the TitleBar to move the application - after you have positioned it then click on the X button in the upper left near the Flex Start button to get rid of the TitleBar.  It is designed to generally run WITHOUT the TitleBar and the Compact/Normal menu button will NOT resize the application correctly with the TitleBar visible.

The Compact/Normal menu button (item) can toggle the application from compact to normal size (about 1024x580).  If the TitleBar has been used, as mentioned above, it may mess things up for a moment BUT you can just turn off the TitleBar and click back and forth from Compact to Normal a few times and it will correct itself.  With the program displaying in NORMAL mode you will see ALL the PowerSER controls.

I added the display controls for the Panadaptor (to adjust the scale on the display) to the main screen near the Save and Restore buttons at the top center of the program.  You will probably want to readjust those.  I typically run mine with with a -30 for the top setting and -130 for bottom control - plus or minus depending on band noise, etc.  You may find other settings more to your liking BUT since the Panadaptor display has been reduced in height you will probably need to adjust it some.

As I said above, I have only made cosmetic changes. No other code was touched.  So if you find bugs other than my cosmetic changes it is 99.99% probability that it is also in the regular release of PSDR 2.05.

PLEASE READ THE ABOVE  INFORMATION BEFORE DOWNLOADING ANY OF THE FILES BELOW!!!
