Author: Wanda Richards
Wanda studied Spanish language and culture in Mexico. Afterwards, she was awarded the Title VII Bilingual Grant and earned a Masters in English Linguistics at George Mason University in 1991. She was also awarded teaching certification in English as a Second Language (ESL) and Multicultural Education.
She spent the next four years teaching ESL and literacy in the public school system in Alexandria, Virginia which boasts the most diverse Limited English Proficiency population in the country.
In 1994 she won the prestigious Fulbright Fellows Award. As an English Teaching Fellow, she spent one year instructing teachers in Arequipa, Peru.
Now Wanda lives in Durham, North Carolina where she is dedicating herself to writing.

I am fluent in Spanish and have lived in Peru and Mexico. I have spent a great deal of time in Nicaragua, Panama, Venezuela, Puerto Rico and The Dominican Republic.
