ABOUT

"The number of ex-felons in the United States is at the highest level in our history," says Chris Uggen, a professor of sociology at the University of Minnesota, who estimates there are about 12 million former felons living among us today.

This website is intended to be used as a one stop shop for ex offenders to find information they need to succeed in life.

I became a convicted felon in 1993 when I stole something while in college. Today I struggle to maintain my quality of life. Even though I have a college degree, and worked in government for over 13 years, I am having a tough time finding a job right now. Unemployment is at a record high, and I see that the convicted felon is quickly passed over for work because there are plenty of other candidates that never got caught stealing.  The key is to be honest about your criminal record, and concentrate on your successes in life. And lobby our law makers to allow expungements in North Carolina.
