The website is in its infancy stages, but I plan on adding success stories, and share frustration from people like you and me. You are not alone in your struggle.

There is a cost associated with blocking out ex-offenders when employers deny interviewing them. Click here. The paradigm is the same when lobby groups in North Carolina scare away law makers out of reforming the expungement laws. Senate Bill 491 is being slow walked in our legislature. Introduced in 2009, this bill would give relief to some offenders, after 10 years, of certain non violent offenses.

  1.  2/21/2010 - "North Carolina is ready to begin a comprehensive effort to figure out how to curtail its swelling prison population". OLRY?
Is this yet another smoke screen, or are our law makers ready to address recidivism in North Carolina? One of the leading factors of recidivism is employment. Ex-offenders struggle every day to find decent employment in North Carolina. Too many employers will not hire anyone even after 17 years of committing a non violent crime. I know this fact personally. We need to revise our expungement law. This will address our 'swellling prison population'.  Our law makers will have to get stronger, in order to face the lobby groups in NC that oppose making any changes that would help the ex offender with a second chance. They need to know the public is behind them on this topic. Write your local reps NOW and tell them YES to reform.
