Sawgrass was formed in 1999 in Pawleys Island, South Carolina. Founding members, Jody Harrison and Rob Steuer, are dedicated to creating an experience with original vibes. Emphasis is placed on incorporating the varied musical influences of all band members including traditional Bluegrass, Newgrass and Jam-Band styles. From this musical soup emerges a unique edge that Sawgrass refers to as Acousti-Lectric-Blue-Grass. The shows resonate with musical influences as varied as Bill Monroe, The Beatles, Howlin' Wolf, The Grateful Dead and Gram Parsons. Through strong lead vocals and resonating harmonies, the band parades an eclectic mix which is unique to Sawgrass.
