Simi Valley Storm  Lacrosse
2010 Pacific Lacrosse League Champions

Recently in Nov, Chuck Miller passed away. I had the opportunity to meet him a few years back at a lacrosse meeting that was for promoting the growth of the sport. I had no idea who he was, until a brief conversation this afternoon with  Joe Campbell, the Glendale Lax coach. Turns out that Chuck was a Great Man.  An example
for us all to follow.

He was on boards and committees for various charitable organizations and and organizations to grow youth sports, to include United Way and LA84. As for lacrosse,  Chuck was instrumental in getting lacrosse in schools like Manual Arts and Birmingham. And that's just a relatable iota of his efforts for our sport.

It's been said that you know where a man's heart is if you follow the money trail. Well Chuck had a heart for helping and his pocket book showed it.  There's just too much he's done financially and administratively to even think about listing.
This link to a website will give you a picture of what a Great Man does. Don't be confused, it's not about the money,
It's about his  heart, the heart of a
Great Man.

Arp 2010 El Camino make the news

El Camino Joins the PLL
The need for a HS club lacrosse venue continues as schools experience fluxuation in funding in a tough economy.  In short El Camino was cif and is no more, but with
the closure of all club venues in OC, Ventura Co and San Diego all that remains is the PLL in the LA region.  Fortunately approx 25 club teams remain in the Bay area where we can meet for a state championship.

2/10/ 2010 PLL Season to Start Feb 27th
New teams come into the league for the first
time as "JV".  This allows for more focus on
teaching the game. Teams can learn skills instead of learning how to keep from getting crushed by huge senior heavy teams.  "It's not always been that way. We came in getting tortured by long time programs in the early 2000's" said coach Tyson.

In similar style the SCL formally known as the WCLL for college teams not playing in the NCAA, has allowed for JR College teams to enter the league.  Look for teams like College of the Canyons and Pasadena Community College to join in upcoming seasons.
