Chautauqua County Veterans' Memorial Park once again was our setting for our
Veterans' Day Ceremony on Thursday, November 11, 2010, at 11 am.

Your new regime of officers are striving to work together and provide our Post, any Veteran, and our community with support in the year to come.

Meetings:  Post-The Second Wednesday of each month at 7:30 pm; Auxiliary-The Second Monday of each month at 6:30 pm.


Being community-based signifies the mission our VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) stands for and the reason it is in existence—to assist our veterans.  Our overall direction is to provide community support and welfare in anyway to any veterans first then to community members in need.  Our mission statement is clear and concise: 

 “The objects of the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) are fraternal, patriotic, historical, and educational.  To preserve and strengthen comradeship among its members.  To assist worthy comrades.  To perpetuate the memory and history of our dead, and to assist their widows and orphans.  To maintain true allegiance to the government of the United States of America and fidelity to its Constitution and laws.  To foster true patriotism.  To maintain and extend the institutions of American freedom.  And to preserve and defend the United States from all her enemies whomsoever.”  

The interests have broadened including, but not limited to:  Youth Activities, Civic Betterment, Humanitarian Projects, and Community Service.  We have elected officers; and who usually advance to higher positions within the post once they demonstrate the office satisfactorily.  They can also advance to the county, district, and state levels.  All our officers attend an officer-training program provided by VFW New York.  Our VFW officers include three trustees, service officer, chaplain, surgeon, quartermaster, adjutant, junior vice commander, senior vice commander, and commander; whereas the Auxiliary includes three trustees, guard, patriotic instructor, chaplain, conductress, secretary, treasurer, junior vice commander, senior vice commander, and president.

The progress shown thus far within our Post depicts and represents why our volunteers and our community are so supportive of our new facility.  We are so very proud to see our veterans, Ladies’ Auxiliary, and community members motivated toward the same goal and working together as team players—bringing with them a wealth of expertise and compassion.  It was a joint effort to make our new home a reality.  THANK YOU TO ALL WHO PARTICIPATED!!!!!!!

We are selling bricks to benefit the coordination of our Veterans' Memorial Park.  
These bricks are available for a $100 donation.


Veteran Ceiling Tiles are still available ~ $60 ~ Business Tiles too!  Colored tiles ~ $110
VFW Posts and Auxiliaries can proudly display their own Post's ceiling tile.  
Full-length tiles are $110/$210, respectively for black & white or colored with two logos.

Our Remembrance Table

The Veterans' Remembrance Table was coordinated by Auxiliary Member, Sharolyn Wutz.
The framed poem* explains the purpose of our displaying the Remembrance Table.
"As you entered the banquet hall this evening, you may have noticed a small table in a place of honor.  
It is set for one.  This table is our way of symbolizing the fact that members of our profession 
of arms are missing from our midst.  They are commonly called POWs or MIAs, 
we call them "Brothers."  They are unable to be with us this evening, and so we remember them."
