Turn Back Time
A Voyagers/The 70s Show Crossover

~Give me time to reason, give
me time to think it through. Passing through the season where I cheated you.
I will always have a cross to wear, but the bulk reminds me I was there.
So, give me strength to face this test of mine.~
Jeffrey Jones looked up at the sky, laying still on his back for a moment
where he had fallen from the Cosmos, grateful that at least he had landed
on the grass, and not the concrete driveway less than one foot away.
"Jeff? You all right, kid?" asked a concerned voice next to his ear.
"M'fine, Bogg," he assured, glancing over at his best friend.
Well, the once-pirate was more than just that. He was his father in his heart
and looked out for him more than most fathers would have.
"Where are we?" he asked, leaning up on one elbow.
"Ahhhh . . . Point Place, Wisconsin. March 27, 1977."
"Red light?" the boy guessed.
"Yeah but I can't figure what could be wrong here," he frowned, his clear
blue eyes confused.
Suddenly, he saw a guy walk onto the driveway and pulled Jeffrey out of sight
when he saw another man approach him.
"What's Drake doin' here?" he muttered.
~If only I could turn back time. If only I had said what I still
hide. If only I could turn back time, I would stay for the night. For the
night.~
"Oh, uh, hello again," Kelso said to Drake.
"Hello, Kelso," Drake said pleasantly, smiling that slick smile of his that
always sent shivers down Jeffrey's spine.
Drake was once a Voyager, too but he'd gone bad and now only lived for vengeance;
that and working with the Evils to mess up history.
"Okay, that guy he's talking to doesn't look familiar. Name doesn't even
*sound* familiar," Jeffrey whispered.
"Shhh, just wait," Bogg warned.
"I kept my promise," Drake reminded.
"Promise?" Kelso frowned, confused.
"You have your girlfriend back, do you not?"
"Look, dude, you didn't have nothin' to do with *that*" Kelso scoffed.
"Oh, didn't I? I told you about my powers."
"You . . . you really *do* have powers, man?" Kelso asked excitedly. "Dude,
I thought you was just on a bad trip."
Drake rolled his eyes; this was gonna be easier than he thought.
"You got her back, just as I promised. In original history, she did not take
you back."
"Wow . . . well . . . thanks?"
"Thanks is nice but now you must do a little something for me."
~Claim your right to silence. Claim your right to see the truth.
Though my pangs of conscience will drill a hole in you. I seen it coming
like a thief in the night. I seen it coming from the flash of your light.
So, give me strength to face this test of mine.~
Eric sighed from his place on the couch and shared a sympathetic glance with
Fez. Donna, Hyde *and* Jackie had been in bad moods all morning, and he was
seriously considering just splitting with Fez.
Donna had been acting weird ever since he'd been brought up the idea of a
bigger commitment, so he'd tried to let it drop, but even that did not seem
to work. He could guess what was with Hyde; he'd been acting all pissy ever
since Kelso and Jackie had hooked back up.
Kelso and Jackie . . . now that was a match made in Hell. It was scary. He
almost wished Laurie and Kelso would make up; somehow that felt less weird
now.
Speaking of which, he started wondering what *was* with Jackie, but decided
against trying to figure out her moods, and sighed resignedly, dropping his
head back on the table.
~If only I could turn back time. If only I had said what I still
hide. If only I could turn back time, I would stay. The bulk reminds me I
was there. The bulk reminds me I was there.~
"It must be the girl he's dating is supposed to be with someone else and
Drake is messing around with relationships," Bogg surmised.
"Yeah, but why?" Jeffrey frowned. "And, this guy, he doesn't seem all that
bright. I honestly don't think he knows what he's doing."
"No, it's pretty obvious Drake is using him." Bogg quickly agreed. "We just
have to be careful. This could be an elaborate trap for us or just something
Drake is doing out of spite."
"What do you want me to do? I'll do anything; it was very nice of you to
use your powers and stuff to help me Mr. Cupid guy."
Drake smiled indulgently; the twit honestly believed his story that he was
Cupid. Well, at least that would get him to do his bidding, and keep his
existence a secret.
"Kelso, I need you to plant some seeds in your friend Donna's mind next .
. ." he instructed.
"You wanna grow something in her head?"
"NO!" he snapped, rolling his eyes. "I *mean* I want you to . . . uust talk
to her about commitment and stuff, okay?" he sighed, calming down.
"Okay," he shrugged, waving as he popped out, and loped into the basement.
~If only I could turn back time. If only I had said what I still
hide. If only I could turn back time, I would stay for the night. If only
I could turn back time. If only I had said what I still hide. If only I could
turn back time. I would stay for the night. If only I could. (If only I could.)
If only I could. (If only I could.) If only I could turn back time, I would
stay for the night. If only I could. (If only I could, if only I could.)
If only I could. (If only I could, if only I could.) If only I could turn
back time, I would stay for the night. If only I could. (If only I could,
if only I could.) If only I could. (If only I could, if only I could.) If
only I could turn back time . . .~
