How many tournaments will the Marion Diamonds play in?

Each team will play anywhere from 5 to 8 weekends.

What dates will the tournaments be played?

The first weekend will be Memorial Day and go through the end of July.

How far away will we have to travel?

We are planning on 2 to 3 overnight tournaments.

Will all the Marion Diamond teams attend the same tournaments?

As much as possible, although some of the teams may not be playing on certain weekends.

Are the Marion Diamonds going to play in any national tournaments?

This will be determined on a team by team basis. In 2008 our 10U,12U,14 and 16U teams qualified for nationals. The 16U attended and placed in thirteenth.

How many girls are on each team?

10 to 12 depending on the coach of that particular team.

What about accommodations?

We will try to set up group accommodations for the overnight tournaments.

The parents are financially responsible for those expenses.

Will the teams practice during the winter months?

Some of the younger teams will practice depending on the particular coach. We are not planning to have any practices during the Holidays. Some teams may play fall ball or winter ball at an additional cost.

How much does it cost to play?

$450 for new players and 425 for returning. We budget for six tournaments per team. There will be an additional $40 added to each player for each tournament added beyond the six already in budget.

Is there any fundraising that will be done?

    Yes, each girl needs to participate with our raffle fundraiser.
