Our House

That was Scratchbuilt

The photos show some of the process building the house.

Below is a photo of the prototype

( See the Christmas Wreath, I added one to the model by using a steel washer and a magnet hot glued to the inside,

now I can take it off and on without any visible hanger )

The house is built with a sub-structure of 3/16" Gatorboard hot glued with Midwest siding contact cemented over that.

Windows are cut out where I want light to come through windows.

The foundation stone was cast in hydrocal and then cut into 1/2" strips and glued to a base I cut from 1/2" gatorboard and the base was cut 1/4" smaller than the outside walls of the house.

Here is a photo of the roof removed showing the lights for the interior

The next photo shows the roofs on but no dormers or side hip roofs or shingles put on yet

Shingles are on and roll roofing as well, painted , as well as trim pieces and front porch railings

Add a front porch light ( N scale street light pole )

In place on the layout, with roof antenna added ( brass wire soldered together) fencing and landscaping done.
